Ditch cookie cutter templates, and boxing in your design dreams. I'll help you build blue-sky stores and tailor a high-end client experience, without burnout.
Imagine being able to create custom shopify websites that clients paid you 5 figures and more for without having to spend 400+ hours on it?
Listen… Knowing how to speak to a computer is pretty f***** cool if you ask me. Imagine being able to go from pixel pusher to a computer psychic?
Designing and coding for Shopify is no longer just for mystical wizards of the agency world.
If you want to charge higher ticket and have your clients wowed, you need to unlock the next level of Shopify which is being able to customize templates to achieve the look you want.
Being able to head home early and spending some time with your family and friends instead of spending hours on a project. Let’s end the late night code-until-your-eyes-bleed projects just to have something for your portfolio.
Having a streamlined and repeatable process that you’re able to outsource to a junior designer or developer. This means no longer feeling disappointed and having to red line work because it doesn’t match your vision.
Being able to operate from where the ‘money resides’. You know Shopify projects can demand a higher ticket clientele and you now need to know how to create custom designs so you can confidently charge those prices...
Know exactly what to do in every step of the process. You're time is most valuable when spent in action mode, so the checklists, breakdown of each phase, and resources to help get unstuck are there every step of the way.
As a designer and developer myself I know exactly what it’s like to want to over deliver to your clients and burn the candle at both ends. You want design freedom, but tight boundaries with clients.
I’m also not only showing you how to create high quality custom Shopify websites... but how to deliver an exceptional customer experience that will have clients eager to get on your books and refer you to all of their industry friends.
These tools helped me unlock my genius zone in my agency and create a consistent experience for my clients to stay out of my inbox after launch and move into high-paying strategic services they pay >20k for.
Inside the codex i’ll be showing you how to do the exact same!
"When I enrolled in the Shopify Codex, I was standing on the edge of taking the jump into offering Shopify design and development, but I was worried I was going to bite off more than I could chew and not be able to deliver an amazing website to clients. Enrolling in the Shopify Codex gave me the confidence to start offering these services more confidently, and I’ve since designed Shopify sites that I’ve been really happy with from both a design and functionality perspective. If you’re worried that you don’t know enough about Shopify or coding in order to join—don’t be! Lea breaks down even the hardest concepts into bite-sized modules that are easy to follow. She also shares an abundance of resources and goes above and beyond with how much she shares about her own design studio’s processes and templates. This course delivers on it’s promise and is worth every penny!"
Entrepreneurs are looking for on-brand beyond what they can DIY but don’t cost them a fortune, are still unqiue and beautiful.
Shopify is still niche and the amount of people who can build customized stores is not meeting the market needs.
Knowing how to customize themes is an in-demand skill that other designers are desperate and need help with all the time.
Clients willing to pay 10k+ have different and more demanding needs then templates help them achieve
Give your clients a more streamlined process to create full confidence in you and create a referral-worthy service.
With Online Store 2.0 now out, more merchants want new storefronts that unlock design power, and just knowing CSS might not cut it anymore.

I’ve been coding since 12 years old, back in the good old days of Neopets and MySpace profiles. I turned my nerdy passion into a thriving multi-six-figure design studio. I get to do what I love everyday helping entrepreneurs bring their small business dream to life with the platform they demand: Shopify.
I have been developing Shopify stores for 5 years, and through a lot of sleepless nights, projects going hundreds of hours over budget, and nightmare tech issues - I decided to do things differently and offer customized experiences for clients who value design in a way that offers freedom and profitability and I want to help you learn how to do the same.
Creating this strategic process and learning these skills has allowed me to work with 6 clients a year and make multi-five figure months while working from home, remotely on vacation, and aorad. All while serving clients I feel deeply connected to.
I’m on a mission to help you build a thriving eCommerce design business that challenges you and gives you freedom to live the life you desire.
"I'd highly recommend this course to anyone who'd like to take their Shopify development skills to the next level. The course contents are really comprehensive with well documented student wiki that I often refer back to. And Lea is active in the community if you run into any coding issues. The course gave me the confidence to be able to offer customized Shopify websites to my clients."
"If someone were to say that they were on the fence about getting this course, what I would tell them is that just the sheer amount of value and modules and different topics that are covered... from the Shopify admin to scoping projects properly, you know, which is a big one on top of the coding and all of this goodness. It really feels like Lea is kind of your Shopify big sister who has all the answers and her experience really shines through"
Short answer, sort of. We recommend you have some basic understanding of HTML and CSS to be most successful in the coding curriculum. Long answer: Coding is only PART of the story with this course. We will go through all the foundations you need to know on how CSS and Liquid (Shopify's templating language) works and theory of how the syntax works plus tips on how to apply it. But learning to code is like learning a language and takes time, practice, patience and troubleshooting to master it. I'm here to help you learn and support you but this is not a learn-how-to-code foundations course, more a refresher and deep dive into more intermediate to advanced
Short answer: There is definitely value in taking this course, but it was designed with web designers and developers in mind who offer Shopify services for clients with bigger dreams - like you! But, designers and developers are our core audience.
Short answer, not really. This course is designed for those with some experience using the Shopify platform who want to master the ins and outs and create really engaging store or grow their service based web design and development business. I recommend you take Amplify Shopify from Morgan Rapp and mastering building Template Based shopify stores between 5-10k with CSS. if you're beyond that and have clients who need you to offer more out-of-the-box solutions, and you're ready to share 15-40k+ for a project, this is the course for you to do that profitably and systematically.
Refunds for purchased courses:Depends! Due to the nature of this course being digital, and access being instant, we have to strike a balance between protecting our Intellectual Property against people who want to steal and resell our content, and people who genuinely signed up for a course that wasn't right for them. All incomplete courses will be eligible for a full refund within 7 days of course purchase IF you have not completed the module which gives you access to our extensive student Wiki of resources (lesson 3 of module 1). We’re always here to help you learn the course material if you get stuck on a concept, you can ask questions at our monthly Q&A or instantly in our Slack community. If you're not sure if a course is right for you ask me Lea, at hello@arqdesign.studio, we're here to help you assess if the Shopify Codex is right for where you're at and where you want to get to! PS, you can also watch our Free Webinar which will give you a taste of the course content before you make your decision. If you want more information, visit our Terms and Conditions page.
Each module is between 30 minutes to 2 hours or more of content (but if you're like me, you watch on 1.5x+ speed to shorten that). Learning to code especially is a commitment in itself to learn a new skill and is really a mindset thing to work in if code is your frenemy right now. We also have an extensive Wiki full of resources from swipe files, checklists and more to glean the information.
The entire course will be dripped out to you in a bi-weekly format so you have time to digest and action the content before moving onto more difficult concepts -but immediate acces to the GIANT library. Plus you'll have access to our exclusive Slack community to ask questions and find answers to common problems others are having.
Yes! Most video lessons have a link to Loom, which has timestamped transcript of the videos that are more friendly to ready and skip to parts of the lesson that are relevant. We're working on providing closed captions to videos later.
Because this course if digital and you get instant access, we DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS. If you have any questions, please email me. hello@arqdesign.studio
The Shopify ecosystem is changing RAPIDLY. The time required to update the content and remain relevant is expensive. People who lull around a course for more than 6 months typically don't complete the content. The time limit is a successful way to motivate you to go through the curriculum and apply your knowledge before it becomes stale and irrelevant. If we give you lifetime access...you’ll never complete it. We are giving you a seat to a premium Slack community where you can chat with students via voice and video in real time, which costs money. We will be introducing community managers, developers to do code reviews, and coaches which should be paid for their knowledge and expertise. I am confident this course will help you become more successful, if you put in the work. If you want more information, visit our Terms and Conditions page.I know it sounds harsh but, you don't see universities giving students lifetime access to their professors because they would never graduate if they did.
If you have a deadline to get through the content, you're more likely to finish the course and start seeing results.
When you pay in full, You will have one-year access to the 84+ page Wiki packed with resources, and 1 year access to the core curriculum lessons to watch back. Monthly members get access to the content for as long as you want to be signed up.
After 12 months, you won't have access to the new Guest Workshops, Code Updates, New Lessons, and Bonus material inside the Group.
*Templates, Wiki Knowledge Base, are downloadable throughout the program so you have forever access to them forever, updates included. Your modules will be accessible forever, but not the updates for future cohorts.
Note that this course is self-paced and comprehensive. Like learning any new skill, it will require time commitment in order to see results and there is no guarantee of performance. Snippets and code applications learned from the program can ONLY be used for client work but CANNOT be shared, sold or repurposed to be sold as sections or courses, workshops, or to be shared as free resources anywhere.
